Ferryhill Town Council Reduces Carbon Footprint thanks to Grant Funding Secured to Install Renewable Technologies
Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to announce that, thanks to a £65,250 grant secured through Tarmac Ltd. Landfill Communities Fund, it has been able to build on its environmental credentials by installing a Solar Photovoltaic Array on the roof of its main offices at Ferryhill Town Hall together with a battery storage unit. Delivering this project will enable the Town Council to reduce its Carbon Footprint, while also reducing its energy costs. Grant monies will also be used to carry out a series of essential remedial works at the Town Hall, to ensure that the building can be made as energy efficient as possible in the future.
Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari said ‘Ferryhill Town Council takes its responsibility for the environment seriously and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint, and its impact on the environment. The Council is extremely grateful to Tarmac Ltd. for contributing such a significant level of funding, which has enabled this project to be brought to fruition.’
