Members Initiative Fund offering local community groups the opportunity to apply for funding to develop local projects.
In 2022 Ferryhill Town Council launched its new Members Initiative Fund offering local community groups the opportunity to apply for funding to develop local projects. The initiative proved hugely successful, supporting 18 community groups and twenty-three projects in its first year and supporting 16 community groups and 18 projects in its second year. Due to its success, the Town Council has agreed to open a third round of funding, with each Town Councillor being allocated a small pot of money to contribute towards projects and initiatives organised by local community groups/charities. Through the scheme Councillors are also able to pool their resources to deliver larger projects that will be of significant benefit to the local community.
Any group who would like to apply for a grant through the Members Initiative Fund is advised to approach a Town Councillor in the first instance, to ensure that they have support for their project idea before submitting an application.
