Ferryhill Town Council was first established as a Parish Council in 1895.
It has emerged through the various Local Government re-organisations since this time relatively unscathed. The Council is a statutory body and is therefore largely funded by way of Council Tax receipts.
The Council’s operative area is solely within the boundaries of the Town of Ferryhill serving its 11,500 inhabitants.
The Town Council’s central office is located in the Town Hall, however the Council workforce operate on several other sites including Dean Bank Recreation Park, Mainsforth Sports Complex, King George V Playing Field, Duncombe Cemetery and several other smaller sites around the Town.
