Ferryhill Town Council Installs New Bench at Entrance to Public Footpath Leading to The Carrs Nature Reserve
Thanks to £1,000 external funding secured through the Neighbourhood Budget Monies of Councillor Peter Atkinson via the 4Together Partnership, Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to announce that it has been able to replace an old and damaged public seat on Wood Lane, at the entrance to a well-used Public Footpath leading to the Carrs Nature Reserve, with a brand new, modern bench.
The original seat, which had been in-situ for over 20 years was damaged beyond repair and was completely unusable. Following requests from residents for it to be replaced, and thanks to Councillor Atkinson’s generosity, the Town Council has been able to provide a brand-new public bench.
Councillor Atkinson said ‘It is important that as public seating facilities become old and worn that every effort is made to replace them with new, modern facilities. Accordingly, I was only too happy to contribute monies from my Neighbourhood Budget allocation to enable this well used public bench to be replaced for the benefit of local residents.’
