Ferryhill Town Council Secures Funding to Improve the Town’s Football Pitches
Ferryhill Town Council is celebrating having secured a total of £80,753 external funding through the Football Foundation and Durham FA to purchase a new tractor and associated mowing equipment, and to cover professional pitch maintenance fees at Dean Bank Park and Mainsforth Sports Complex, for the next six years.
The Football Foundation and Durham FA carried out an inspection of the Town’s pitches and awarded the monies based on their assessment of the works required to bring the pitches up to a good quality standard for the many teams who use them.
Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari said ‘On behalf of Ferryhill Town Council I would like to say a huge thank you to the Football Foundation and Durham FA for contributing the funds needed, to enable the Town’s football pitches to be brought up to a top quality standard, for the benefit of the many football teams who use them; and for contributing monies towards much needed machinery and equipment, to aid Town Council staff in maintaining the facilities to the highest possible standard for years to come.’
