New Planters for Ferryhill Town Centre Thanks to Mears Green Space Community Grant
Ferryhill Town Council would like to say a big thank you to Mears for contributing £1,000 through a Green Space Community Grant to cover the cost of building materials to manufacture two new planters in the Town Centre, and to provide compost and plants.
Staff at Ferryhill Town Council purchased materials and manufactured the planters, and then on a bitterly cold day in November, staff from Mears joined forces with Town Council staff, in Ferryhill Town Centre to plant-up the new containers, for the benefit of the local community.
Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari said ‘The original planters in Ferryhill Market Place were old and damaged and on the verge of collapse, this project has enabled two new planters to be manufactured and positioned to take pride of place in the Town Centre, making the area look much more aesthetically pleasing. A huge thank you to Mears for awarding funding through a Green Space Community Grant, to enable this project to be brought to fruition.’
