Residents Invited to Comment on New Play Equipment Designs Proposed for Dean Bank Park
Thanks to £90,000 grant funding secured from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund via the Derbyshire Environmental Trust (DET), Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to announce that tenders have been sought from professional Play Companies, with a view to all existing junior play equipment at the park being replaced in the Autumn, and additional equipment aimed at teenagers also being installed on the area of land where the old Bowls Pavilion was recently demolished. The play area which has received little in the way of investment for over 10 years has become worn and outdated and is now desperately in need of refurbishment.
Designs submitted by Play Companies as part of the Tender process will be placed on display for residents to come along and have their say during the following dates/times:
2.00pm – 4.00pm on Tuesday, 19th August 2025 at Dean Bank & Ferryhill Literary Institute

Mayor, Councillor Angus Ferguson said “This project is great news for local children. The new equipment will transform the old play area, giving it a new lease of life and making it much more inclusive. The project will also see the development of a new designated teenage area. A big thank you to DET and the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund for awarding the funding that will enable this project to be delivered. The new equipment will benefit local children for years to come.”
