Ferryhill Town Council is looking for a highly motivated and experienced manager to oversee
the Council’s parks, open spaces and amenities owing to the retirement of the current
postholder.
Managing a team of 6 permanent staff and seasonal workers, the successful candidate will
play a key role in the delivery and continued improvement of the Council’s services and
facilities, including 4 parks, 7 football pitches, 4 sports pavilions, 1 bowling green, 1 cricket
pitch, 5 children’s play areas, approximately 350 allotments on 5 sites, public toilets, town
centre car park, flowerbeds around the Town, a large cemetery and the Town Hall.
You should have extensive knowledge and experience of management of parks and green
spaces, biodiversity, environmental and countryside issues. Good customer service skills
are essential with the ability to liaise confidently with members of the public, colleagues,
elected members and external organisations.
