This book of Commemoration is in recognition of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the throne.
It is an honour to be Mayor of Ferryhill, especially this year as we celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, to achieve what no other British Monarch has done before and reach 70 years on the throne is a fantastic achievement, a historic milestone.
Ferryhill Town Council, as well as local groups in Ferryhill, celebrated the Platinum Jubilee, with some excellent events, such as Beacon Lighting, Party in The Park, Jubilee themed window competition, coffee mornings, plus many more, bringing the whole community together. School children were also given medals as a keepsake to remember this historic event for years to come.
Thank you, Queen Elizabeth, for your dedicated service over the years.
Councillor Carole Atkinson, Mayor of Ferryhill
Her Majesty has devoted her life to this great United Kingdom, it has been a privilege to be born during her reign, to have served during her reign, and to hopefully be there as she concludes her reign, relinquishing this enormous responsibility to her rightful heir.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN .
