Ferryhill Town Council Secures Grant Funding to Upgrade Play Facilities at Dean Bank Park
Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to announce that a grant of £90,000 has been secured through Tarmac Ltd. Landfill Communities Fund, to enable the play area at Dean Bank Park, which is now 15 years old, to be upgraded. Old equipment will be removed and replaced with new, modern equipment. New Inclusive Play equipment will also be installed on the site of the former Bowls Pavilion as part of the Improvement Scheme, which in total is expected to cost in the region of £115,000. Ferryhill Town Council will contribute £25,000 towards the project.
Community Consultation will take place during August to enable residents and especially children and families to be able to have their say on what play equipment is installed, with works expected to commence on site in the Autumn.
Mayor, Councillor Angus Ferguson said ‘Ferryhill Town Council are thrilled that it has been able to secure the monies required to regenerate the Play Facilities at Dean Bank Park. The Council is extremely grateful to Tarmac Ltd. for contributing such a significant level of funding, which will enable this project to be brought to fruition and breathe new life into this former Miner’s Welfare Park.’
