Mayor Visits Little Treasures & Stray Aid
Last week the Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Angus Ferguson paid a visit to Little Treasures Autism Sensory Group and to Stray Aid:
Speaking after his visit to Little Treasures the Mayor said “I had such a lovely time meeting the children, their parents and the Little Treasures
volunteers at the Dean Bank Institute last Saturday, as this group is one of my mayor’s charities it was wonderful to be invited along to see the group in action, I spoke with Clair Black one of the Trustees with the charity who gave a little insight into how any funding will be used”, Clair said “ideally some of the money will be used to maintain the sensory equipment and even purchase new sensory equipment, for example, touch screen boards, fibre optic lighting, bubble lamps and bubble wands, the children love bubbles through sensory. The long term goal for the group is to have their own Sensory Room equipped with sensory equipment.”
Speaking after his visit to Stray Aid the Mayor said “As they are another of my mayor’s charities, I was delighted to be invited to Stray Aid to meet the wonderful staff, volunteers and of course, the beautiful dogs and cats looking for caring and deserving homes. What a task Stray Aid have in ensuring this. 
They offer full time, in house veterinary care and as well as having a permanent vet, they also have volunteers vets, a full surgery and nursing care for all the cats and dogs brought to them for rehoming. Your sponsorship money will go towards the full time care of the gorgeous pups and kittens Stray Aid take in to rehome. And no, you can’t have Fudge – the beautiful Caucasian Shepherd giving me a cuddle – as I want her! Seriously though, Fudge is nearly ready to be rehomed, so if you want the best cuddles and love from a lovely girl, she may be the one for you. Thank you for all you donate. It will be put to good use”.
