Ferryhill’s Annual Senior Citizens Trip Enjoyed by Local Residents
Ferryhill’s Annual Senior Citizen’s Trip took place on Thursday 25th July 2024 when approximately two hundred local residents visited Scarborough.
The trip was supported by the three County Councillors for Ferryhill who each donated £333.00 from their Neighbourhood Budget, Ferryhill Town Council would like to say a huge thank you to Councillors Peter Atkinson, Curtis Bihari and Joe Quinn for their donation, their support meant that tickets were made available to residents at a low cost of £5 per ticket. Special thanks also go to those Councillors who made themselves available to act as Stewards on the buses and also the residents who helped out.
Town Mayor, Councillor Carole Atkinson, said ‘We all had a great day in Scarborough, the weather was lovely and it’s so nice that the Council are able to provide this trip for local residents every year.’
Chair of Ferryhill Town Council’s Events Committee, Councillor Curtis Bihari said ‘As the Chair of the Events Committee I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the trip, I am so pleased the weather stayed fine and everyone had an enjoyable day. As a County Councillor I was delighted to have been able to donate towards the cost of the trip along with my fellow County Councillors’
Next years trip is due to be held on Thursday 24th July 2025, the destination will be decided when all the questionnaires have been returned from this year’s trip, the questionnaires are completed by passengers giving them the opportunity to decide where the following year’s trip will visit. Details will be made available on the Council’s website, Facebook page and in the Ferryhill Chapter.
