Ferryhill Christmas Fayre & Official Switch On of the Town’s Christmas Lights – Friday 29th November 2024
Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to invite residents to attend Ferryhill’s Annual Christmas Fayre and official Christmas Lights Switch on, which will be taking place on Friday 29th November 2024.
The Fayre will officially commence at 1.00pm with a Christmas Market in the Town Centre (Market Place) Car Park, which will be joined at 2.00pm by Children’s Show Rides and Catering Vehicle. At 4.15pm Carol Singing by children from local Primary Schools will take place in the Town Hall garden, which will be followed by the official switch on of the Town’s Christmas Lights at 4.30pm. The honour of switching on the Town’s lights this year will fall to a pupil from Cleves Cross Primary School.
The event this year will also include Santa’s Grotto, free face painting and free children’s entertainment by Mr Windbags, with the Mayor’s Charity Tombola Stall all taking place inside Ferryhill Town Hall from 4.30pm – 6.00pm.
Due to this event, the Bus Stops in Market Street will not be in use between the hours of 3.30pm and 6.00pm. As gas works are currently taking place in roads close to the Town Centre, Temporary Bus Stops will now be located for the duration of the Christmas Fayre as follows:
SERVICE 7 will pick up at the bottom of Durham Road (using both sides of the road) enroute to Darlington, and also for journeys to Durham.
SERVICE 56/56A and 8/8A will pick up outside Ferryhill Working Men’s Club for passengers travelling to Ferryhill Station.
SERVICE 113 – will use the Temporary Bus Stop opposite Ferryhill Working Men’s Club enroute to Bishop Middleham, Fishburn and Sedgefield.
