Ferryhill Christmas Fayre & Official Switch On of the Town’s Christmas Lights – Friday 28th November 2025
Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to invite residents and visitors to attend Ferryhill’s Annual Christmas Fayre and official Christmas Lights Switch on, which will be taking place on Friday 28th November 2025.
The Fayre will officially commence at 2.00pm with a special Christmas Market in the Town Centre (Market Place) Car Park, which will include food vendors and seasonal drinks such as mulled wine and Hot Chocolate, as well offering the perfect opportunity to pick up Christmas Gifts. The Christmas Market will also be joined by Children’s Show Rides. At 4.15pm there will be Carol Singing by children from local Schools, in the Town Hall garden. This will be followed by the official switch on of the Town’s Christmas Lights at 4.30pm. The honour of switching on the Town’s lights this year will fall to a pupil from Broom Cottages Primary & Nursery School accompanied by Mayor, Councillor Angus Ferguson.
The event will also include a Santa’s Grotto, free face painting by Glittery Girl and free children’s entertainment by Mr Windbags, along with the Mayor’s Charity Tombola Stall, which will all be taking place inside Ferryhill Town Hall from 4.30pm – 6.00pm.

4.15pm – 4.30pm – Carol Singing by local School Children in the Town Hall garden
4.30pm – Official switch on of the Town’s Christmas lights by a pupil from Broom Cottages Primary & Nursery School, accompanied by Mayor, Councillor Angus Ferguson Mayor & Councillor Angus Ferguson to announce Winner of ‘Design a Christmas Card’ Competition
4.30pm – 6.00pm – Santa’s Grotto – Ferryhill Town Hall (Downstairs) (accessible by main gates/front entrance to Ferryhill Town Hall)
Note: Please notify the Town Hall by 4pm on 27th November if your child has any food allergies/intolerances and intends to visit Santa’s Grotto
4.30pm – 6.00pm – Children’s Entertainment, Face painting and Mayor’s Charity Tombola Stall – Ferryhill Town Hall (Upstairs) (accessible by side entrance to Ferryhill Town Hall)
