Advert for Work to Area of Footpath at Surtees Doorstep Green, Ferryhill Station
Ferryhill Town Council is inviting quotations from a suitably experienced/qualified Contractor to carry out works to excavate an area of public footpath, to remove obstructing tree roots before reinstating the footpath and surrounding ground.
Works to include:
- Excavation of path to access tree roots
- Removal of Roots as required and Installation of Root Blocker
- Installation of Base and Top Tarmac
- Compact Roll
- Timber edging as required
- Install Topsoil and Grass Seed or Turf as required
- All Spoil to be removed by the Contractor
- Quotation must include all costs including plant, labour, materials and fuel

Suppliers must complete Ferryhill Town Council’s Quotation Form (available upon request) and provide a copy of their Public Liability Insurance together with their formal quotation on letterheaded paper, as well as any certificates they hold, demonstrating that they are capable of carrying out the work. Contractors must also be willing to provide Risk Assessments if awarded this contract prior to the commencement of work on site.
All quotations must be submitted electronically to: quotations@ferryhill.gov.uk by no later than Monday, 4th May 2026.
The Contract will commence as soon as possible, with the successful contractor being advised by 15th May 2026.
