On Saturday, Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Curtis Bihari and Councillor Paul Anthony Donald opened the new Cakes N Boba shop in Ferryhill Station.
Boba is a tea-based drink that originates from Taiwan. It mostly consists of flavoured tea with chewy tapioca balls. It’s one of the first shops of its kind in County Durham.
As well as offering a wide variety of tastes and flavours, they also offer homemade cakes and sweet treats. For something a bit different, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Mayor Bihari said: “It was a pleasure to open the new Cakes N Boba shop in Ferryhill Station. I welcome more businesses coming to our town and offering something a bit different for the residents of Ferryhill. I had never tried Boba tea before this weekend, needless to say I’ll be back for more.”
“I want to wish Baba the owner and his team all the very best in their new venture and would encourage everyone to try it.”
Councillor Donald said “I’ve been working with Baba for some time, helping him get set-up for his big opening day. It was great to join him for the grand opening and I wish him the best for the future.”
