Having launched its Members Initiative Fund (MIF) in April 2022, Ferryhill Town Council is pleased to announce that it has already been able to support sixteen local groups through the scheme. The latest group to receive funding is Little Treasures Autism Charity, who recently attended a presentation at Ferryhill Town Hall where Councillor Stephen Bowron presented a representative from the Charity, Clare Wilkinson with a cheque for £150 from his MIF Allocation. Funding will be used to enable an Animal Therapy Session for Autistic Children to be organised.
Councillor Bowron said ‘I am delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile Charity as Little Treasures. As someone who has two autistic children my-self it is great to be able to give something back and contribute funding to a group, who have benefitted not only my own family but the families of many autistic children across the North-East by offering a range of workshops and social activities each year.’
